Just very briefly, for the past few days, the Thai army chief, Prayuth, have been making statements on the Thai FBI investigations into the crack-down on the Red Shirts protesters.

A few years back the crack-down killed about 100 civilians and protesters.

The latest on the move by the Thai Army Chief Prayuth statements, is from Human Rights Watch Thailand senior researcher who just twittered today, quote:

The Thai DSI, is headed by Tarit, who recently, took all the police investigation into the crack-down, which is now about two years since the investigations started and was going nowhere, and Tarit consolidated all the investigations at the Thai FBI, in a said goal of reaching a conclusion.

Tarit latest statement, in response to the several Thai Army Chief statements, is that in translation, quote:

  • “It is not necessary to find all soldiers involved in the killing of protesters to be found guilty, but those who gave the order, will have to take responsibility.”

On Twitter also, a leak, indetail, of documents from the Thai Army, says Abhisit and his security chief Suthep, gave the order for the crack-down, not to stop the protest for negotiations, but to end the protest.

The crack-down took place while Prayuth was also the Thai army chief, however, Thai military expert says, it is not Prayuth who was all for the violent crack-down, but his close friend Daopong, who showed a great deal of eagerness for the crack-down.
