Politics: The “Democratic Conscience” of the Pheu Thai Party gives a warning to Yingluck

Sunai is the conscience of the Pheu Thai Party, a very known democratic activist globally, a well known Red Shirts and perhaps, the best politician at the Pheu Thai Party.

Sunai-says it clearly, that Thai democracy-perhaps, is close the last hope.

Practically everyone who is involved in the struggle to bring democracy to Thailand is like celebrating-and that includes Thai Intel. These days, when I meet a Red Shirts, it is like all smile to each other and lots of hugging.

  • But really, even if a fraction of the news hitting Thailand, is real-it looks like a mess, with position jockeying, policy leaked out and debated by the press, and the establishment-making the most out of losing the election.
  • But the following is from Sunai, one of Pheu Thai Party elders who has been there from the start-in the struggle with the forced of dictatorship in Thailand-and he is warning that this is no time for celebration, but the time to deliver the goods to the people of Thailand-so they will be confident in the democratic process.

The following is from an Open Letter by Sunai:

เรื่อง ภาพลวงตาแห่งชัยชนะและต้องมองการเมืองให้ยาวไกล

(About the mirage of winning and the need to look at Thai politics long-term)

ชัยชนะในการเลือกตั้งของพรรคเพื่อไทยเมื่อ 3 กรกฎาคม 2554 เนื้อแท้เป็นชัยชนะที่ประชาชนส่วนใหญ่ไม่อาจทนได้ต่อไปกับรากเหง้าแห่งระบอบ เผด็จการ

(The result of the election is because the Thai people can not accept the Thai political roots of dictatorship)

ที่สมคบกับกลุ่มการเมือง และพรรคการเมืองตัวแทนที่กระทำการยึดอำนาจล้มระบอบประชาธิปไตย ฉีกรัฐธรรมนูญ 2540 ที่ประชาชนร่วมกันร่างขึ้น เป็นฉบับแรก โดยใช้อำนาจเผด็จการเชิงโครงสร้างทั้งศาล ทหาร ตำรวจ และองค์กรอิสระ ทุบทำลายรัฐบาลที่มาจากการเลือกตั้งโดยชอบถึง 3 รัฐบาลภายใต้การควบคุมของกกต.ที่ตั้งโดยพวกเขา ติดต่อกันภายใน 5 ปี ด้วยวิธีการที่ป่าเถื่อนที่สุดที่นานาอารยะประเทศไม่อาจยอมรับได้ ตั้งแต่ขับรถถังยึดสภา ยึดทำเนียบรัฐบาล ยึดสนามบิน และฆ่าประชาชนอย่างโหดร้ายกลางกรุงเทพมหานคร

(That dictatorship is the result of political forces and political parties jointly tore up the people’s constitution by using the judicial structure, police, military and other independent agencies to get rid of 3 elected governments, giving the forces of dictatorship control of Thailand for the past 5 years, with a variety of tactics such as taking over of the government house, airport and the killing of protesters in the center of Bangkok)

คะแนนเสียงของมหาชนจึงเป็นเสียงสวรรค์ที่เรียกร้องความเป็นธรรมทางการเมือง และทางกฎหมายด้วยการใช้มาตรฐานเดียวกัน โดยรวมศูนย์ความเห็นอกเห็นใจอยู่ที่พ.ต.ท.ทักษิณ ชินวัตรในฐานะสัญลักษณ์ของเหยื่ออธรรมทางการเมือง

(The voice of the people in the past election is the voice from heaven, giving justice in politics and legal matters, with the center being Taksin, who is the symbol of the victim of an un-just system.)

แต่ความเป็นจริงระบอบเสียงสวรรค์นี้กำลังอยู่ในภาวะอันตรายที่สุดเพราะระบอบ เผด็จการยังทำใจไม่ได้ และพร้อมจะสร้างสถานการณ์ให้ปั่นป่วนและลุกขึ้นมาใช้อาวุธโค่นล้มระบอบเสียง สวรรค์นี้เช่นอดีตที่เคยทำมาแล้ว

(However, this voice of the Thai people from the recent election is in a most dangerous position because the forces of dictatorship in Thailand can not accept the election result and are ready for a new round of instigating tactics and a coup to get rid of the Thai people’s voice as have occurred in the past)

เนื้อแท้แห่งชัยชนะ 3 ก.ค. จึงเป็นภาพลวงตาที่เราทุกคนต้องตระหนักถึงความเป็นจริงนี้ โดยเฉพาะสส.ของพรรคจะต้องผนึกกำลังฉลองศรัทธาแห่งเสียงสวรรค์ ด้วยการใช้อำนาจที่ประชาชนมอบให้ แก้ปัญหาปากท้องความทุกข์ยากของประชาชน,ให้ความเป็นธรรมแก่ประชาชนที่เสีย ชีวิตและบาดเจ็บจากการเรียกร้องประชาธิปไตย และเร่งสร้างความปรองดองให้ได้โดยเร็วเพื่อให้ประชาชนมีศรัทธาต่อระบอบ ประชาธิปไตย และปิดกั้นการขยายตัวของรากเหง้าเผด็จการ ,

(The election victory, therefore, is a mirage and all of us must understand this fact, especially the Pheu Thai Party MPs, in the importance of using the victory to solve the people’s basic problems of every day survival and give justice to the Thai people who suffered and also in delivering reconciliation, so that every Thai will have confidence in the democratic process)

นี้คือภารกิจหลักของ สส.ในรอยต่อที่อันตราย,มิใช่การแสดงตัวโอ้อวดความสามารถและแย่งตำแหน่ง รัฐมนตรี,ขอให้สส.ทั้งหลายควรสำนึกถึงความจริงในเวลานี้ว่า โดยส่วนตัวของท่าน,ท่านไม่อาจจะก้าวข้ามป้อมปราการแห่งอำนาจเผด็จการและเงิน ตรามาหาศาลของอดีตพรรคร่วมรัฐบาลได้ หากขาดซึ่งกระแสแห่งศรัทธาของมหาชนในตัวพ.ต.ท.ทักษิณ ชินวัตร เป็นธงนำ

(The above is the most critical task for the forces of democracy in this critical juncture. What is important at this juncture, is not ministerial position in the government. I ask all MPs to realize that you must rise above and over the forces of dictatorship, money and position)

กระผมรู้ถึงความเหน็ดเหนื่อยของท่าน สส.เพื่อไทยทุกคนที่ต่อสู้ร่วมกันมา แต่ขอให้ทุกคนมองการเมืองให้ยาวไกล อย่ามองแต่ผลประโยชน์เฉพาะหน้า และขอให้เชื่อมั่นในผู้นำคนสำคัญของพรรคฯที่ไม่ทอดทิ้งเรา และมีศักยภาพที่จะเลือกสรรบุคลากรที่เหมาะสมขึ้นมาเป็นรัฐมนตรีแก้วิกฤติการ เมืองที่รออยู่

(I understand the struggle of every Pheu Thai Party MPs is difficult, but I want to suggest we all keep an eye on the long-term and not short-term benefits. We need to appoint people who are capable at solving Thailand’s current critical political problems)

ขอให้ท่าน สส.ระลึกถึงอยู่เสมอเถิดว่า,เรา (นักการเมือง) ไม่อาจจะหลอกใช้หน้าหนังสือพิมพ์ และหน้าจอโทรทัศน์ เพื่ออวดอ้างความสามารถของตัวเองและพลังกลุ่มสส.ของตนได้ โปรดช่วยกันสนับสนุนให้สื่อสารมวลชนใช้พื้นที่สื่อของเขาเพื่อสร้างสรรค์ ประชาธิปไตย และการปรองดองจะดีกว่ าโปรดอย่าไปแย่งใช้พื้นที่หน้าสื่อของเขาเพื่อสร้างข่าวที่บั่นทอนจิตใจ ประชาชนเลย

(I want to remind all MPs that you can not use newspapers or TV to promote yourself, but I want to remind you all to use the media for positive development of Thailand’s democratic process and for reconciliation. Please do not use the media for purposes that would depress the Thai people)

ขอให้ประชาชนเชื่อมั่นว่าสส.ของพรรคเพื่อไทยส่วนใหญ่ยึดมั่นในแนวทางประชาชน และพร้อมจะต่อสู้เคียงข้างกับท่านเพื่อให้สังคมไทยกลับคืนสู่ความเป็นธรรม

(I want to assure the Thai people to be confident in the Pheu Thai Party MPs that they will see the Thai people as the center and is ready to struggle beside the Thai people)

จงสามัคคีกัน เชื่อมั่นในศูนย์การนำพรรคฯ และเชื่อมั่นในผู้นำพรรคฯคนสำคัญที่ กกต.ไม่ให้เอ่ยชื่อ

(Do unite as one and believe in the leadership of the party)
