Diplomacy: Abhisit in Davos with talks of Egypt “Restraints”

By Stingray, Thai Intel’s national security journalist

A Failed Leadership Characters:

The situation in Thailand is tense.

Egypt has erupted into a fight for Democracy-with millions protesting-and death toll have passed the 10o death mark.

In Thailand, the talks is “Coup and War” with Cambodian fortifying the border with heavy equipment, and the military holding secrets talk of “Coup.”

In the mean time, Thai protesters, both Red and Yellow Shirts are on a ballistic trajectory-with the Red Shirts getting stronger and stronger and the Yellow Shirts-as radical as anything.

    Abhisit in Davos:

As the Abhisit set-up reconciliation committee to find the truth in what occurred in the bloody crack down says the Thai police and Thai FBI gave them little support in finding the truth and Robert Amsterdam, the Red Shirts lawyer, will announcing his investigations into the bloody-crack down soon, in a case to the International Criminal Court-Abhisit told CNN at the Davos meeting that Mubarak of Egypt, “Must Show Restraints” and that the Thai Red Shirts were violent-thus justifying the crack down-see the investigation  track record here. The Thai police and Thai FBI are highly politicized units-working for the government in the cover-up.

    Suthep in Bangkok:

Meanwhile in Bangkok, Suthep, Abhisit’s man in charged of national security, is calling for “Restraints” as the Cambodians said it was ready for was along the entire 800 KM border line with Thailand-as Cambodia’s leader Hun Sen said that the Thai military exercise on the border and Abhisit calling for the removal of Cambodian flag on the border are “Highly Provocative.” As Thai Intel reported, Abhisit the start it all, the current Thai Cambodian stand-off and the Thai military as the provocateur-see here.

    Yellow Shirts Protest:

Meanwhile the Yellow Shirts are protecting, numbering in the low 1,000s, at the height, calling for even more hard-line approach to the Cambodians.

Suthep seemed confident that the Yellow Shirts will not be a threat-already threatening the Yellow Shirts with a court order to dislodge them and said, quote: “With only 1,000s protesting, do not make any demand.” That is again, highly provocative statements.

    Coup Rumor Galvanizing Red Shirts:

As yet, meanwhile, the rumor of a “Coup” in Bangkok persists-already with some retired military generals saying the condition is ripe for a Coup-see how the Thai military plans to meet future protest here.

Based on that Coup rumor, the Red Shirts are planning a major protest in a few weeks-as a way to head-off a coup-and already the Red Shirts are laying plans for their activity after the Coup. The Red Shirts have protested against the Coup government before-and their ranks are expected to grow significantly in the event of a Coup.

    Global Contegent & Changing Environment:

The cotangent from the Middle-East is having an impact on global foreign relations-with the USA getting tough on an old ally like Egypt-threatening concrete steps against Egypt’s president Mubarak-long known as a stabilizing force and an ally to the USA in the Middle East. Egypt off course comes after Somalia-which is now on a global hunt for its former leader.

Under a changing USA and global dynamics-global reaction against this potential future Thai coup or crack down on protesters-could prove to be “Very” costly for Thailand-especially coming on top of a failure to investigate the previous crack down and Robert Amsterdam investigations hitting the globe.

Thus, a hard-line approach on future Red Shirts protest-against the coup or otherwise-may also be difficult-from a global position-meaning the coup leaders or the Thai government-may not be able to expect the USA Senate to come out and support the crack down with statements like the “Thailand as a staunch ally of the USA” and then taking no action, only a week after the bloody crack down-meaning that type of global support might not be coming forth again.

And already, what had occurred in Somalia and is occurring in Egypt-is given hope to the Thai Red Shirts.

Bottom-Line: Thai War with Cambodia and Coup

Thai relations with many countries globally have greatly “Deteriorated” already as a result of the bloody crack down and the current tense relations with Cambodia.

For example, Japan is greatly concerned about seeing one of its journalist killed in the crack down-and much of ASEAN have been cooled towards Bangkok for a long time now.

That cool reception of Thailand-is because the current confrontation with Cambodia is cause by Abhisit and the slaughtering of the Red Shirts, with no credible investigations from the junta, have not escaped global notice-of how “Aggressive” the puppet Abhisit regime “Truly” is.

If ever there is a time to hope-that the two face and always lying-Abhisit and Suthep-and their ally being the provocative and murdering Thai military-can really show “Restraints,”  it is now.
