Journalism: 8) Yingluck’s Twitter “Hacked” evidence points to “Ultra-Nationalist”

Thailand‘s prime minister, Yingluck, Twitter account that is managed by a team, was hacked about 12 pm today, with the hacker posting several messages that points to the working of Thailand’s ultra-Nationalist.

A computer anti-virus software maker, about a month ago, rate Thailand as the worse in Asia, for infected computer machine-indicating weak preventive measures in Thailand’s Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) area.

The twitter appear to be an “Ultra-Nationalist” based on the following message he Twitter with the Yingluck account. “You can not even protect your Twitter account so how can you protect Thailand.”

Other messages, includes attack on Yingluck’s government various policy.

The hacker, calling himself a he, started by pretending he was Yingluck, Twittering, quote: “We came to power by fooling the poor Thais by giving them hope, and are in office for the interest of our inner people.”

The hacker also attacked modern business and economics principles, saying, quote: “This business and economics work for the inner group and not for the Thai people” and also, “Tall buildings and new city development is not the right way for Thailand.”

The ultra-nationalist Thais, is a segment of the Thai population that rejects Globalization and progressive development, but prefer isolation and sufficiency oriented development.

The Thai ICT ministry reportedly have cornered the hacker, who is suspected of using his mobile phone or mobile web for the hack, and is now using sophisticated technology to hide his location.

Other news source said the hacker belongs to an inner group that have access to Yingluck’s media team, and have used sniffer to get Yingluck’s Twitter account pass word.

Other news source said, however, that Yingluck’s media team that helps her Twitter and do Facebook post, is a large group that means the pass world could have fallen into the hacker’s hand.

The Thai ICT Ministry, have been mostly used to go after lese majeste offenses against the Thai monarchy system, where little attention have been given to cyber-warfare capability.

The new Thai ICT minister, said establishing a cyber-warfare command center, is one of his top priority.

Earlier, a Pheu Thai Party MP, also claimed that his e-mail was hacked-as messages were sent from his e-mail to news outfits offering bribes for media exposure for Yingluck.

Global level internet scam, have used Thailand, increasingly, as the center for their global operations.

BANGKOK, Oct 2 – The personal Twitter account of Thailand’s Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Sunday was attacked by an unknown hacker, as the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) minister pressed for an immediate probe on the matter.

The premier’s @PouYingluck account on the popular microblogging social network was targeted by an unknown person Sunday morning who denigrated, in eight separate posts (or tweets), the Pheu Thai government policies and administration.

In the last post, the hacker also questioned the premier’s capacity to protect the country as she failed to even protect her Twitter account.

Pheu Thai party spokesman Prompong Nopparit on Sunday denounced the move as inappropriate, violating the premier’s privacy rights and the computer law.

Mr Prompong urged the ICT ministry to probe the case and bring the culprit to the prosecution as the matter was damaging to the premier’s image.

ICT minister Capt. Anudit Nakhontap said he has already assigned the Technology Crime Suppression Division to identify the hacker.

“Now we are tracking the culprit. We can not yet identify him/her but have some clues,” stated the minister, adding the premier’s account can still not be retrieved, while noting the attacker is knowledgeable on how to register a Twitter account.

Capt. Anudit added the culprit tweeted from his/her iPhone and hid the location, but the ministry would speed up the investigation as soon as possible.

The minister said he will hold a news conference regarding the matter on Monday. (MCOT online news)
