What is going on beneith the surface of the complicated mess with the Thai 3G or the third generation mobile phone-one may ask?
Well, just think back a little about Taksin sales of AIS to the Singaporean and was called a traitor of Thailand who sold something that was Thai to foreigners. That cry against the AIS sale launched a tidle wave that washed Taksin away from Thailand-by the Yellow Shirt-based on Nationalism.
Then think about CAT and TOT-two stste telecom firms that were going to be listed on the Thai stock market-to raise funds so they can compete and remain viable. Off course the Abhisit government cancled the public offering-as the Yellow Shirt protested the listing of both CAT and TOT because that would be like selling Thailand assets away to anyone who wants to own them-including foreigners.
So CAT and TOT are stuck being Thai to keep the Nationalist happy.
The problem is off course that CAT and TOT, if not listed and go public to raise funds for expansion and compete with other telecom firms in the free market and become professionally managed-they can not stand on their own.
The 3G development, if allowed to go forward, would literally be the final nail in the coffin for both CAT and TOT-as new investments takes place taking listed and competitive telecom firms into new advance markets.
And so is there any surprise at all, why the Yellow Shirt media, hell bent on Nationalism, have been against the 3G and all in favor of keeping TOT and CAT safe from competition and regulatory changes that would strength the Thai telecom sector.
The Thai courts and justice system-as have been since the end of the Taksin time-have been nothing but an “Activist Courts.” And the loud and clear message the Thai justice system have been giving is just that-pro-Nationalism and Yellow Shirt.
So is there any doubt at all, how the courts will vote as it did today and that is to-in effect-delay the launching of the 3G system-on a wide scale basis-like indefinately.
Well, as the Yellow Shirt bake in the warm sun of Nationalism-the Laotians, Cambodians and Viernamese have had a widespread availability of 3G for a few years now.
As Thai Intel told our readers a few weeks back-the Amart or elite rule of Thailand-will not allow the 3G and will delay it out as long as possible.
Our reason, apart from all of the above, Thai Intel told our readers back then-the 3G is a threat to the elite rule of Thailand-because with 3G-there will be an information explosion.
As Thai Intel said back then-the elite rule of Thailand are all about mind control and not free flow of information.
