Just very briefly, however, Thailand‘s opposition leader, Abhisit, just sent USA Senator John Kerry a letter trashing Thaksin, relating to the USA granting Thaksin, in what the local Thai press report as a 10 years visa to enter the USA.
Thaksin, just wrapped-up his USA trip, with a meeting with Henry Kissinger, but having to confront a crowd of anti-Thaksin protesters, like the Yellow Shirts, at several meeting of supporters that he went. Back in Thailand, there were also protest at the USA Embassy in Thailand, by like the Multi-Color Shirts.
- Of note, is that Thailand’s Yellow Shirts and Multi-Color shirts, while supporting and linking to Abhisit to a certain extent, is widely accepted as Neo-Fascist and Fanatics groups.
Kerry is the USA Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairperson, with a long track record in Southeast Asia affairs, serving in the Vietnam War and being an anti-Vietnam War activist.
There is little in the Wikipedia on Kerry’s ASEAN policy and Google search also has little on Kerry’s Asia policy.
However, there is the following:
