money has a way of corrupting people

Money, money, money and money…It makes the world go around and it also makes some people go totally “Mad Crazy!”
The Thai internal revenue unit, just gave back money to Taksin‘s kids-relating to money confiscated for taxes payment relating to the Taksin corruption case. The tax unit said the court said the base money they used to confiscate money from Taksin kids for taxes, were ruled by the courts to belong to Taksin. And thus, with the money not belonging to Taksin kids, they can not levy the taxes on the kids.
So the revenue department “Un-frooze” the kids money. But guess what? The Democrat Party is going “Ballistic.”
Both Abhisit and Suthep, made statements about the return of the confiscate money right away-with Suthep saying, quote: “It is Taksin objective all along to get his money back and I suspect Yingluck would be helping” with Abhisit saying, “The Thai people will not accept the return of Taksin money.”
The question is, why is the Democrat Party freaking-out about the money?
The situation involving the Shinawatra money is well-known:
- Well, by now, if anyone still thinks the Thai justice system is fair and just-one should really have one’s head examine-with even the World Justice Report, saying the Thai civil justice system is under the influence of the government.
- Taksin, perhaps, suffered the most from that crooked justice system-with the coup government going after Taksin with a coup set-up corruption unit, then the Thai courts with link to Prem, who has the maximum hatred at Taksin-making the final kill.
- If the above is not enough, as a few Thai legal expert/academic have pointed out-the court that found Taksin guilty of causing Thailand massive damage in the corruption ruling-based that ruling on the testimony of one researcher only, and that is a TDRI researcher who said Taksin, changing the laws governing the Thai telecom business, hurt the Thai state.
- “The court relied on one person opinion that Taksin caused massive damage, and rejected the argument of other researchers with the opinion that the telecom law changed caused no damage to the Thai state,” is the summary of the group of Thai legal expert/academic.
- What is even more interesting, is that in past coup-this type of corruption allegations, confiscation of assets and method have been used before to nationalize the asset of many politicians. There is really, nothing new, in what Taksin went through, and it is exactly the same thing what other politicians in other coup had to go through.
Arguably, all of the above is very well known-since much have been written about all of the above many times-and widely published. So arguably, the Democrat Party, including Abhisit and Suthep, also knows of all of the above.
And yet, with the knowledge of the above, why is the Democrat Party freaking-out, about the Shinawatra family money situation?
So far, in all of the Thai press and all the analysis on Thailand, there have been no attempt to find out. But Thai Intel, argues that the reason the Democrat Party, can not accept that perhaps, Taksin was treated un-fairly by the Thai justice system that nationalized his money away-is purely about “Politics.”
The Democrat Party, is currently, clinging to the last straw of a “Political Life.”
The Democrat Party says it all the time, that “Taksin” is the “Toxin” of Thailand-meaning, Taksin is the poison of Thailand.
- In fact, if one were to analyze the Democrat Party’s political philosophy, it is just one thing only and that is “Cleanse Thailand of the Taksin toxin.”
And that is why, the Democrat Party, just can not accept many of the things this report touches upon-because if the Democrat Party acknowledge that the Thai justice system treated Taksin un-fairly-there would be no reason for the Democrat Party’s existence. And they would have to find a new reason for existing.
In sum, justice does not matter, but keeping the “Toxic Taksin Story Going” relates to the survival of the Democrat Party itself.
