Environment: Global tax-haven, Cayman Island, face environmental wreckage from industrialization

to many of the super-rich, closest to the heart is money

Sometimes, I wonder really, if there is any sense of decency left in how some human beings pursuit monetary richness.

So like great, Cayman island, one of the most beautiful and environmentally rich island globally-should just like be a paradise of nature-far from the material world and money.

But “No,” the super rich and corporation, turns the island into one of the global biggest tax haven for the super rich. OK, who wants to pay tax, but then it is this type of mindless pursuit of money that feeds greed and is hurting global environment.

Like great, if that is not enough-that Cayman Island is feeding global greed.

Now guess what, a self-destruct in Cayman Island itself-with industrialization.

The following is from Care2

The Cayman Islands’ Half Moon Bay is one of the most breathtaking underwater landscapes in the world. The bay’s sheltered waters are home to a kaleidoscopic array of rare marine life, making it a prime site for visitors and locals alike. Now, private developers are threatening to destroy it.

Save the irreplaceable Half Moon Bay.»

The Cayman Islands government recently approved a developer’s proposal to cut a cement swathe 600 feet wide through the heart of Half Moon Bay. The economically unnecessary proposed seaport will decimate the Islands’ East End area, razing six healthy coral reefs and endangering several more.

Grand Cayman currently relies upon East End for all of its fresh water and much of its agricultural produce. The introduction of large-scale heavy industry into such a delicate ecosystem would cause irrevocable damage to both marine life and these natural resources.

Tell Cayman Islands Premier McKeeva Bush to preserve the East End.»
