If Abisit doesn’t start focusing in solving Thailand’s problems, and stop playing politics-he may be heading for a lonely road.

It started as a small shock for me about a month ago to see in MCOT, the official mouth piece of the Thai government, giving lots of room and space for the opposition to say what they wanted-obviously not afraid of the government anger.

Then is came from other places that were typically the stronghold of the far right like the business papers of Tharnsethakij and Prachachart Turakij that suddendly were hitting at the government as failures on so many fronts.

I was curious but not convinced.

Then it came in the form of  Polls that showed that the government had failed to reach even 5 out of 10 points in every category the poll asked the Thai people.

But the clincher for me was from Thai Rath that said that the ratings on all TV news channel is at all time low-and for those who doesn’t know, in Thailand all TV news are government controlled propaganda.

For confirmation, then I went to many of my favorite blogs-like Bangkok Pundit and Thailandjumpedtheshark-and most are in unison that the government spin isn’t making headway with people-and even Abisit own TV address is not attracting anyone.

Then I started getting cutting edge messages in my e-mail and internet social network, with teachings from the Thai Royal Family, that in sum was about how the far right agenda is in fact hurting Thailand’s highest institution.

All of it tells me that the government is on the way down-literally a sinking ship.

But as a neutral observer, I asked myself if Abisit has the political skill to rescue his sinking ship?

Well it looks bad really. War with Cambodia? Trouble in the Deep South? Bad economics and business environment? Far right agenda? You name it Abisit hasn’t solved anything.

But Abisit is the master of politics and he knows the Thai people well. A few clever moves and public opinion can swing to his side.

Yet as Thai Rath says, it is the history of the Democrat Party to have the best politicians in Thailand who are masters of politics. But Thai Rath added-the Democrats are the lousiest at doing anything else-like managing the country.

Well try figuring this one out, “Best politicians in the World but the lousiest in managing anythig else.”

All I can say to my Thai friends is that, “I feel for you man.”
