10.42-A group of NorPorChor supporters got together to discuss what happened on October 7th and Bally was there when they concluded their study.
Report by NorPorChor………Night of October 6th PAD told supporters a major change will take place by 6 pm the next day as a result of their surrounding of the Parliament, therefore, protest goers must follow PAD guards and support them………At 11.30 6th October, a vanguard of the main body of protesters move out to prep the area and inspect police force at the the Parliament……..
4-5 am early morning October 7th; Main body of the protesters reached Parliament early morning…..Police, having been on duty all night, were refreshed with new back-up forces…….5-5.30 am; Police start to warn protesters with loud speakers for them to disperse or send negotiators to talk with the police ASAP…….6-6.15 am; No PAD came to negotiate but guard fortified their lines all around Parliament square, with Police forces taking position to disperse the forces on the right side of the Parliament square…………..a last minute warning was made for women and children to leave the protest because the police were going to break the PAD lines on the right hand area of the square to open the door for the MPs to enter Parliament………..6.15-6.20 am; Police began to move against PAD on the right side of the parliament square by shooting in tear gas……6.20-10.15 am; Clashes occurred with police and PAD lines meeting and melded into one with great mayhem………
PAD carrying home-made bombs threw the bombs at police, many more were skidded into police lines for police to step on, many more were dropped from PAD hands, and many more went off as PAD ran for cover into each other and falling on the street making the bombs go off (As witnesses by journalist of many PAD guards with bags showing round objects in them and confession of a PAD guard that many of the bombs that are held in reserved by women and men supporters for safe keeping went off accidentally)……..
9.50 am; The climax of the clash came around 10 am when guns shot were heard and foreign news agencies warned the police that they saw PAD guards with hand guns and saw off shotguns positioning themselves behind baracades………..10.15 am; Police responded to the threat of gunfire by shooting tear gas directly at the PAD line in defense of themselves, breaking practice of shooting the gas up in the air for it to fall and this direct shooting, coupling with many PAD and other carrying the home made bombs, resulted in the loss of limbs as journalist witnesses several gas canisters hitting PAD guards and exploding like it was a bomb………….
Some time along this time line a Cheroike Jeep full of explosives went off in front of a coalition party HQ, killing the owner of the car and another-who later was identified as a relative to a Democrat MP and a PAD guard, with speculation that the bomb went off by accident.
Things died down about this time as the direct firing cleared the right hand side of Parliament for MPs to go into Parliament, for the reading of the government policy as required by law, needed for the government to take effect.
By about 2 pm; The PAD re-grouped, with orders to re-capture the right side of Parliament and lock MPs inside of Parliament, as a big event, which is a coup will take place at about 5-6pm…………Police intercepted the news about the coup and were prepared to leave the MPs surrounded in the Parliament because none wanted to confront the military……..At about 2.30 pm; PAD attacked the weakened police line and recaptured the right side of Parliament and trapped the MPs inside and PAD media cars began broadcasting through loud speakers rediculing the MPs for being trapped……………….2.35 pm; Several MP found secret pathways out of parliament but the passage were then locked with the reason given was that it didn’t want to be drawn into politics. MPs inside noticed that no Democrats MPs were trapped inside and hushed together to speculate that the Democrats knew of the PAD plans to trap MPs inside Parliament house…………….2.40 pm; Angered PPP MPs of the Democrat action called the police and warned them that if they didn’t come to the rescue, serious injuries could happen to the MPs with potentials of the PAD holding the MPs as hostage until new politics becomes reality with a new coup……….
Some time along this time line a PAD protester drove his 4 wheel drive into a group of police officer and then backed up to run over an injured police lying on the street, before making a quick getaway.
3.00 pm; Police regrouped and attacked the right side of the Parliament full force and many PAD and police were greatly injured in the clash. However, the police broke through and opened the way for MPs to leave. meanwhile inside PAD received news that the coup was not likely to come fourth as the military had joined the police in freeing the trapped MPs……..
Some time along this time line, a man with his hand torn off by explosives lay dazed, apparently holding a home made bomb in his hand. Later hospital official told the press that it was a key chain but the key chain was not in the victum’s belongings bag.
3.45-6 pm; PAD and the protesters began to leave Parliament in groups from one strong hold after another back to government house and on the way stopped for several quick confrontation with the police at police HQ. This time hand held gas containers were seen clearly being thrown into the police compound by the PAD guards and guns shot ware made also into the compound, including several home made bombs (as pictured by journalist). Police responded by shooting out across the fence tear gas which dispersed the protesters.
6-10pm; Several of these clashes with police on their way back to government house took place, with a major one about 9 pm.
All day the injured were taken to the hospital with all in all about 500 injured with many seriously, including women, men and police. Apart from the Cheroke bomb killing two, a women with the side of her body torn apart apparently from a massive explosion died and become the symbol of police killing of innocent people for people on the PAD side of the story. However, many other speculate that it wasn’t tear gas but explosives and thus leaving many to speculate if the police fired explosives into the crowd or was it the girl carrying reserves bombs for the PAD, that went off.
About 7 am next morning; At coffee shop all across Thailand, people talked about what happened, with Danny, this blog political analyst, telling his in-group of coffee house politicians, “They lost their legs and lives to start a coup. What mindlessness is that.”
(Bally says nobody was really keeping track of time so the timing could be off!)
