7.14-PDA plaied it both sides yesterday by officially telling reporters that PDA will not say what they will do if the house was dissolved, but after the press meeting told reporters unofficially that if dissolution took place and the people wanted PDA to disband, it would. The press was un-usually agressive against the PDA and drilled leaders into a corner on many questions and the PDA leaders abruptly ended the meeting. There were several shout of questions directly to intimidate the PDA leaders, in the same way Samak often gets.
Our reading of it is that this is just a ploy to get the Samak to resign, and then carry on pressing for new politics. The unofficial position given to reporters was just to appease the reporters and keep them on PDA’s side, and position the PDA as legitimate.
